our story
Five years ago, during the uncertainty of COVID-19, 801 Promotional was born from a simple problem that needed solving. Our founder, Melanie, owned an insurance agency and needed just 4 custom shirts for her agents. When she called around, every company had high minimums – but she didn't need dozens of shirts, just four. She knew there had to be a better way to serve businesses of all sizes.
What started as a side hustle quickly evolved into something much bigger. As the industry shifted during the pandemic, we rapidly adapted by launching online stores, which have become a leading service for our clients. We recognized that whether you're a small startup needing a handful of shirts or a large corporation placing bulk orders, everyone deserves quality custom apparel without the hassle of unreasonable minimums.
Today, Melanie has sold her insurance agency to focus full-time on 801 Promotional, bringing custom apparel solutions to businesses both small and large across our community and beyond.
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Melanie brings passion and family values to everything she does at 801 Promotional. Married to her husband for 16 years – "the man who keeps me on my toes" – she's the proud mother of four beautiful daughters. When she's not creating custom apparel, you'll find the family outdoors, whether they're on the water or camping on land.
Competition runs in the family DNA. Whether they're cheering from the sidelines of a soccer field or watching their daughter cheer, the spirit of competition fuels their energy. This competitive drive translates into delivering the best possible service for every 801 Promotional client.
One of the unique aspects of 801 Promotional is our family-centered approach. You might see Melanie's kids folding shirts, counting apparel, pressing designs, or working alongside the team at events. We believe in involving our family in the business because it keeps us grounded in what matters most – genuine relationships and quality work.
GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY

Every year, 801 Promotional partners with Move Forward by Giving Back, a nonprofit organization that raises money for children in Utah's foster care system.
